How do I access the databases in MackinVIA?
1.Go to Classlink.
2. Click on the e-Library folder.
3. Click on MackinVIA.
4. Click on the databases tab on the left-hand side.
5. Find the database you need and click on the blue “Open Now” button.
Below is a comprehensive list of the available databases available to you through MackinVIA.
World Book - Early Learning
Emergent learners will engage in an interactive and playful environment of topical content worlds with bursts of information to support microlearning. Guided reading program with stories spread across Lexile Levels provide building blocks for early learners. Read-aloud option across all functions of the database promotes a personalized learning experience.
World Book - Kids
Captivate even the most reluctant reader with unique visual engagements, rich multimedia content, and an abundance of educational games, activities, and projects. With thousands of articles, multimedia content, and a collection of biographies, World Book Kids is designed to encourage the young learner to be curious. The carefully curated content also supports STEM/STEAM instructional initiatives.
World Book - Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos
This dedicated Spanish-language database contains videos, compare-and-contrast features, selected articles, and a visual dictionary to allow ESL students and Spanish-learners the chance to learn. Integrated with World Book Kids for parallel English-language content.
World Book - Timelines
Search more than 650 pre-generated timelines and 14,000 event in a highly interactive and customizable database. Investigate the chronological significance of world events and the lives of notable historical figures. Build, save, and share timeless for an authentic learning experience and integrate content easily from other World Book databases and outside sources.
Gale In Context - Biographies
Contains more than 600,000 biographical entries covering international figures from all time periods and areas of study. Providing coverage of the most searched and studied people, Biography includes over 5,000 portal pages on contemporary and historical figures. Reference content is offered alongside videos, audio selections, images, primary sources, and magazine and journal articles from hundreds of major periodicals and newspapers. This resource is continuously updated to ensure users have access to the latest information.
